Mathew Street Festival

I was employed over the bank holiday weekend to mix FOH and monitors on the Water Street stage at the Matthew Street Festival. This free 2-day gig in the centre of Liverpool and run by Liverpool City Council featured 6 stages and was very well attended. From The Jam, Billy J. Kramer and Ska Wars featured on the stage among others. Capital Sound Hire supplied a Yamaha M7CL with LE1500 wedges on stage and a Meyer Sound Mica / 600HP FOH rig.

I spent the past weekend at the one-day Milk Festival in Ireland, mixing monitors for Sam Fox and her band. The festival, held at Ballinlough Castle about 60 minutes outside of Dublin, is Europe's first LGBT outdoor festival. Also on the bill were Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Seb Fontaine and Alexandra Burke.

The last 2 weekends have been spent mixing monitors for Boy George at the multi-artist 'Here & Now' shows in Scarborough and Ascot Racecourse. The shows feature up to 10 80's stars in a 3-4 hour show, both of which were very well attended. Visit www.here-and-now.info for more info.

Kim Wilde - Back To The 80's

I was hired to mix monitors for Kim Wilde this weekend at the 'Back To The 80's' festival in the beautiful grounds of Audley End House near Saffron Walden. In addition, I mixed monitors for Howard Jones who was on the same bill. Also performing was Rick Astley and T'Pau.

Cannizaro Park Festival 2010

This annual festival held on Wimbledon Common is in full swing again after a 1-year absence, and once again, I am looking after sound. This year's acts include soul legend Mica Paris, comedian Rufus Hound and Formula 1 pundit Eddie Jordan with his band amongst others. Thames Audio, as regular supplier to the festival installed 2x Yamaha M7CLs and an L'Acoustics dV-DOSC / SB28 FOH rig. The festival runs until 17th July. www.cannizaroparkfestival.com

Boy George

Starting last weekend at the Esbjerg 80'er Rock Festival in Denmark, I resumed my former job of monitor mixer for Boy George. Further dates over the summer include Glastonbury, B1 Maximum Club in Moscow and the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames.

Just got back from another 2 weeks in Butlin's, Minehead working on centre stage for 2 ATP festivals, first weekend curated by Matt Groening and the second by Pavement. 16 hour days and 42 bands over 6 show days in total. Now it's time for bed!

Just got back home from a 3-week on/off stint in Pontin's, Prestatyn. Started it off with a rave (Atomik), followed by a metal festival (Hammerfest II) and finally finishing with a Northern Soul Weekender.

Megan Mullally & Supreme Music Program

I have just spent a week in the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End mixing FOH for Megan Mullally (of Will & Grace fame) and her superb band. Thames Audio supplied a Yamaha M7CL at FOH with Optocore digital multicore system to distribute all mic channels to FOH and the makeshift multitrack recording studio in dressing room 8.
