Little Mix / All Saints
Wednesday 14th October 2015
Last week, I was hired to mix in-ear monitors for 2 different four-piece all girl bands. The first was an appearance of All Saints at a corporate event that took place at The Roundhouse in Camden, London. The second was for Little Mix who were guest artists on Idol, the Swedish version of Pop Idol recorded in Stockholm. They performed their new song 'Black Magic' which was broadcast live to air on Friday night.

I looked after stage sound for the Rewind Festival's house band in Scotland and Cheshire again this year. Among the artists I mixed monitors for were Jimmy Somerville, Belinda Carlisle, Heather Small, The Selecter, Nik Kershaw, Kim Wilde, ABC, Bananarama, Chesney Hawkes, Hue & Cry and many many more. I used a Yamaha PM5D-RH, with a combination of Sennheiser 2000 series IEM and Martin Audio LE1500 wedges. The Rewind All-Star band is a busy and complex show which utilizes all 48 inputs (plus 2 stereo inputs) and all 24 mixes.
British Summer Time at Hyde Park
Tuesday 23rd June 2015
BST Hyde Park is over for another year, this time featuring world class artists including The Who, Blur, Taylor Swift and Kylie among others. I looked after monitors again, Capital Sound supplying a flip-flop control system with 2 x PM5Ds at monitors, 2 x Profiles at FOH, 2 x 48-way line systems in addition to Martin Audio LE1500 wedges and microphones as dictated by visiting engineers. This dual-setup allowed engineers to have a maximum amount of time on their board and a line-check to happen behind the drape before the band are rolled onto the stage. Yet again, a large Martin Audio MLA system was deployed which allowed a level of over 100dBA at FOH while maintaining strict off-site limits.Martin Audio | Capital and MLA make best ever BST at Hyde Park
